Journal History

Introduction

The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Therapeutics (JMCT) was established in 2025 by BioLuster Research Center Ltd., Bangladesh, with the objective of providing an international platform for the dissemination of high-quality scientific research in medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, therapeutic development, pharmacology, computational drug design, and related pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences. Since its inception, the journal has been committed to promoting scientific excellence, editorial integrity, and unrestricted access to scholarly knowledge through an open-access publishing model.

The journal was founded in response to the growing need for an interdisciplinary scholarly platform connecting modern medicinal chemistry with contemporary approaches to drug discovery and therapeutic development. JMCT encourages research integrating chemical synthesis and characterization, structure-based and ligand-based drug design, computational modeling, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, molecular biology, and translational therapeutic research.

From its establishment, JMCT adopted internationally recognized editorial standards, ethical publishing practices, and a transparent editorial workflow to support the publication of scientifically rigorous, original, and impactful research. The journal follows a single-blind peer-review process and is committed to maintaining high standards of editorial quality, research integrity, and scientific communication.

Development & Milestones

2025 The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Therapeutics (JMCT) was officially established by BioLuster Research Center Ltd. as an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal dedicated to medicinal chemistry, drug discovery, therapeutics, computational drug research, pharmacology, and related pharmaceutical sciences.
2025 The journal launched its online publishing platform using Open Journal Systems (OJS), introduced Crossref DOI registration, adopted a single-blind peer-review system, and established its editorial and publication framework for international scholarly communication.
2026 JMCT expanded its scope across medicinal chemistry, computational drug discovery, molecular modeling, pharmacokinetics, ADMET, pharmacology, toxicology, therapeutic research, and emerging drug development technologies while continuing to strengthen its editorial infrastructure and international scholarly visibility.
2026–Present The journal continues to strengthen its international editorial network, improve editorial policies and publication standards, expand its research community, and enhance the discoverability and accessibility of published research through recognized scholarly discovery and digital preservation services.

Future Direction

The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry and Therapeutics is committed to continuous improvement in editorial quality, publication ethics, scientific integrity, and international visibility. The journal seeks to strengthen global research collaboration, attract high-quality submissions, and expand its presence within reputable abstracting, indexing, and scholarly discovery services while maintaining rigorous editorial standards.

As part of its long-term development strategy, JMCT aims to contribute to the advancement of modern drug discovery and therapeutic science by supporting innovative research in medicinal chemistry, computational drug design, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, molecular therapeutics, and translational drug development.
