Authorship & Conflict of Interest Policy

Introduction

JPCI promotes transparency in authorship and disclosure of competing interests. All listed authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work and must disclose any relationships that could influence the interpretation of the research.

1. Authorship Criteria

Authors should have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study, data collection, analysis, interpretation, manuscript drafting, or critical revision, approved the final version, and accepted responsibility for the integrity of the work.

2. Corresponding Author

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the Editorial Office, ensuring author approval, managing revisions, and coordinating post-publication correspondence.

3. Author Contributions

JPCI encourages authors to clearly describe the contribution of each author. The use of the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) is recommended whenever appropriate.

4. Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission must be supported by written agreement from all authors together with a clear explanation for the requested change. Such requests are subject to editorial approval. Check Details for authorship change.

5. Acknowledgements

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately with their permission.

6. Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose all financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, the research or editorial process.

7. Funding Disclosure

All financial support for the research should be disclosed, including funding agencies and grant numbers where applicable. If no external funding was received, authors should clearly state this.

8. Editorial Management of Conflicts

Editors and reviewers with conflicts of interest must recuse themselves from handling or evaluating the manuscript. Alternative editors or reviewers will be assigned to ensure an impartial editorial process.

9. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure consistency with international recommendations for responsible authorship and transparent disclosure.
