Corrections, Retractions & Appeals Policy

The Journal of Phytochemical Insights (JPCI) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. When significant errors, ethical concerns, or publication misconduct are identified before or after publication, the journal will take appropriate editorial action in a fair, transparent, and timely manner.

1. Corrections

If a published article contains errors that do not invalidate its scientific findings but require clarification or correction, the journal may publish a formal correction. Corrections are linked to the original article to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

2. Retractions

A published article may be retracted when there is clear evidence of unreliable findings resulting from research misconduct, major errors, plagiarism, duplicate publication, unethical research practices, or other serious violations of publication ethics. Retraction notices will remain permanently linked to the original article.

3. Expressions of Concern

Where a serious concern has been raised but an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive, the journal may publish an Expression of Concern to inform readers while the matter is being resolved.

4. Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a written explanation together with scientific justification and supporting evidence. Appeals are reviewed independently by the Editor-in-Chief or another editor who was not directly involved in the original decision. The outcome of the appeal will be communicated to the corresponding author after careful evaluation.

5. Complaints

The journal welcomes complaints regarding editorial processes, peer review, publication ethics, or other journal-related matters. All complaints will be handled confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with the journal's established procedures.

6. Post-Publication Updates

Where appropriate, published articles may be updated with corrections, editorial notes, or other notices to ensure that readers have access to accurate and reliable scientific information.

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure continued compliance with international best practices in scholarly publishing and publication ethics.
